14/05/2026 14/05/2026 SMITH, Colin Joseph Colin Joseph SMITH died on 25 April 2026 at Flat 58 Pardoe Court, Junction Lane, Ormskirk in Lancashire. Mr SMITH collapsed following consumption of alcohol. Paramedics attended but Mr SMITH did not regain consciousness. He died as a result of a sudden cardiac event precipitated by alcohol related physiological stress

15/05/2026 15/05/2026 BAYLIE, Peter Michael Mr Peter Michael BAYLIE died in East Lancashire Hospice in Blackburn on the 27th January 2026 from metastatic lung adenocarcinoma contributed to by a fractured neck of femur. On the 7th November 2025 Mr BAYLIE, who had been diagnosed with metastatic lung carcinoma in July 2025, suffered a fall when a reversing car knocked into his zimmer frame causing him to lose his balance and sustain a fractured hip. Mr BAYLIE was admitted to Preston Hospital where he underwent surgery for the fractured neck of femur. During his period of recovery he developed symptoms of metastatic spinal cord compression and his condition deteriorated. He was transferred to the hospice for end of life care prior to his death on the 27th January 2026.

15/05/2026 15/05/2026 GREGSON, Alan On 21 January 2026 Alan GREGSON was seen to collapse on the street falling straight backwards striking his head, against a background of recently developed episodes of collapse, the medical cause of which had not yet been established. After conveyance to hospital he was found to have suffered an unsurvivable head injury from which he died at Royal Preston Hospital on 22 January 2026.

18/05/2026 19/05/2026 GOUDE, Ian Anthony Ian Anthony GOUDE died on 23 June 2025 at Royal Preston Hospital, Preston in Lancashire. Mr GOUDE was admitted to hospital on 18 June 2025 following showing signs of a stroke. He developed malignant MCA syndrome which causes swelling in the brain and was transferred to another hospital to undergo emergency surgery to relieve pressure caused by the swelling. Despite treatment over the following days, he did not recover. Mr GOUDE was eligible for treatment by thrombectomy which was not available locally at the time of night when he was admitted to hospital, which possibly contributed to his death. 
18/05/2026 19/05/2026 PARROTT, David Wayne David Wayne PARROTT died on 17 February 2024 at Royal Blackburn Hospital, Blackburn in Lancashire. Mr PARROTT was admitted to hospital with a suspected stroke. Thrombolysis treatment was administered but he subsequently developed malignant MCA syndrome which causes swelling in the brain and he did not recover. Mr PARROTT was eligible for treatment by thrombectomy which was not available locally on a weekend at the time of his admission, which possibly contributed to his death.

20/05/2026 20/05/2026 NELSON, Stephen Paul Stephen NELSON was found deceased on the 5th January 2026 at his home address in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. Mr NELSON died from high levels of methadone combined with a chest infection on a background of emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was suffering with severe fatty liver infiltration which also contributed.
