3. Eligibility criteria
EYPP has been extended for 2024 – 2025. Children accessing early education funding (EEF) are eligible for EYPP based on the following criteria.
- Children from low income families (as defined by the criteria Early years entitlements: local authority funding operational guide 2024 to 2025 - GOV.UK
- Children who are looked after for 1 day or more
- Children who have been adopted from local authority care in England and Wales
- Children who have left care under a special guardianship order to child arrangement order in England and Wales
Settings will receive EYPP funding from the beginning of the term in which a child turns 9 months or the term after their 2nd or 3rd birthday.
EYPP is not payable on the additional hours entitlement for 3 and 4-year-old children of working parents.
