3. When to apply and term dates

You can apply for your eligibility code 16 weeks before your child reaches 9 months old.

Your child can start in their childcare place the term after they reach 9 months old, and have received a valid eligibility code, whichever is later.

Term start dates are:

  • 1 September
  • 1 January
  • 1 April.

To access the funded childcare from 1 September 2024, you must have received a code from the Childcare Choices website by 31 August 2024.
