Free bus travel for 5-15 year olds

Children aged 5-15 travelling on local bus services in England can travel free throughout August 2026.
This national offer is being funded as part of the UK Government's Great British Summer of Savings campaign.
Bus operators will require that you state your destination upon boarding.
Reduced evening fares

You can currently travel on any bus in Lancashire for £1 for any journey, after 7pm, 7 days a week.
This offer is not available on Blackpool Transport services, or Preston Bus services 6 (except for 10:10pm and 11:10pm departures from Preston Bus Station, and 10:31pm and 11:31pm departures from James Hall), 8, 16, 19/19A, 23 and 35.
Reduced Sunday fares

On Sundays and bank holidays you can travel for just £1 all day on any bus in Lancashire.
This offer is not available on Preston Bus services 6, 8, 16, 19/19A, 23 and 35.
This scheme is funded by the Local Authority Bus Grant.
£3 single bus fare cap

Bus operators in Lancashire, including those providing services on behalf of Lancashire County Council, will offer a maximum fare of just £3 for any single journey until 31 March 2027, with certain local bus fares less than £3.
School only buses are excluded from the scheme.
