Course Overview

This course is designed for Lancashire County Council employees, who, during their daily duties are involved with any activity that requires the use of mobile scaffold towers.

Course Aim:

The course aims to ensure learners are aware how to:

  • Inspect equipment before using it

  • Erect & dismantle equipment correctly and safely

  • Meet company and all legal requirements.

Course Pre-requisites:

Operatives must be physically fit and be able to participate in practical exercises.

Operatives must bring all usual PPE

Learning Objectives:

 The learning objectives are to create:

  • Safer working environment for employees

  • A reduction of costs and down times associated with poor practice

  • Highly trained workforce

Learning Outcomes:

The learners will have an understanding of the following:

  • Employer’s and employee’s legal responsibilities

  • Tower components

  • Pre-use inspection

  • Safe methods of erection & dismantling

  • Common hazards

  • Practical training

Learning /Testing Methods:

  • Classroom and practical training sessions.

Refresher - 5 years subject to Lancashire County Council and individual circumstances
