Course overview

This course is designed for employees who, during their daily duties are required as a Highways service business need, to have a DCPC qualification.

Course aim

The aims of this course are:
To provide employees working within Lancashire Highways Services with the required knowledge and practical skills essential for gaining a Driver CPC Qualification.

Learning outcomes

The learners will have an understanding of the following:

  • To understand both the operator and drivers responsibilities regarding vehicle roadworthiness

  • Name and understand the key guidance documents relevant to vehicle roadworthiness

  • Name and understand the DVSA Enforcement Sanctions Policy & understand Fixed Penalties

  • Recount key procedures for a vehicle check

  • Name the main guidance documents on Load Security

  • Gain a basic understanding of vehicle weights and dimensions
