Who is this course for?
Foster carers/ Parents/ Carers of children looked-after (CLA) or previously looked-after children(PLA) / Kinship Carers and children under a child-in-need or child protection plan with pre-school children.
Aim(s)
Have an understanding of education legislation and practice in England. Have an increased awareness of educational outcomes for adopted children and young people. Explore the barriers to learning for children and young people impacted by trauma. Have an increased awareness of where/how children and young people learn and how they can be supported in the every day.
Objectives
Participants will be able to
Define what is meant by school readiness
Be aware of the process of school preparation
Learn about activities that can be done at home to support development in the three prime areas of: Communication and Language; Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Physical development.
Be able to research further activities, support and advice online through signposted resources.
