Positive cases of COVID-19 in settings
If you become aware that someone who has attended your setting has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) you should:
- Contact the DfE helpline for advice and guidance - 0800 046 8687 (option 1)
- Inform Ofsted
- Complete the reporting form to Lancashire County Council (please do not complete if the child is attending a Lancashire school)
Please only report confirmed positive COVID-19 cases. You do not need to report suspected cases.
On contacting the DfE Helpline on 0800 046 8687 you will be put through to a team of advisers who will inform you what action is needed based on the latest public health advice.
For further information, please see the full DfE guidance: Actions for early years and childcare providers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak
Data security
The reporting form is a secure transmission between settings and Lancashire County Council enabling data to be shared. This will feed directly into the Public Health system.
