Reading groups
Reading groups
We support reading groups in Lancashire. Registered reading groups and request and collected items for free from any library.
Your group can request:
up to 12 titles each year
up to 15 copies of each title
Groups can request alternative formats, such as audiobooks and large print. Your group can use BorrowBox to download the same item many times for each member.
Setting up a new reading group
If you are thinking of starting your own group, email ReadingGroups@lancashire.gov.uk.
How to use the service
Your reading group must appoint a co‑ordinator. They are responsible for:
requesting books
collecting and returning books on time
To register a group, complete the reading groups form or email ReadingGroups@lancashire.gov.uk.
If your co‑ordinator’s details change, you will need to complete the reading group form again.
To see a list of titles in the reading group collection, email ReadingGroups@lancashire.gov.uk.
Co‑ordinators should download and complete the reading group booking form (DOC 45KB) and email it to ReadingGroups@lancashire.gov.uk. Your nominated library will contact the co‑ordinator when the books are ready for collection.
We update our reading group collection, and you can suggest new titles.
Lost or damaged books
If any items get lost or damaged, your group will have to pay the replacement cost.
