Mobile libraries

Our mobile libraries make sure people who do not live near a library can still access library services.

We have five mobile libraries. They are based in:

• Heysham

• Garstang

• Brierfield

• Clayton Green

• Ormskirk

They run on a three‑week rota, covering more than 700 stops, and carry a wide range books. You can also order books in the same way as you would from any library. Audiobooks, CDs, large print and talking books are available on some vehicles.

Mobile libraries are free to join. You can join at the vehicle. 

Internet access is not available on mobile libraries. As a library member you can download eBooks and eAudiobooks from anywhere.

Access

All mobile libraries are accessible and have a lift. Mobile libraries are not suitable for large motorised wheelchairs because of limited space.
