1. Overview
The aim of early years pupil premium (EYPP) funding is to narrow the development and attainment gap and to support disadvantaged children to reach their potential.
Funding rate
The EYPP is an additional 68p per hour per child, which equates to £388 per year if a child takes up the full 15 eligible hours of early education funding entitlement.
EYPP funding applies to eligible children who receive either:
- Universal 15 hours entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds
- 15 hours entitlement for disadvantaged 2 year olds
- 15 hours working parents' entitlement for children aged 2 years
- 15 hours working parents' entitlement for children aged 9 months - 2 years
The children must meet the eligibility criteria to receive EYPP funding.
