6. Developing the plan

After the assessment, a draft EHC plan will be shared with you to comment on before the plan is finalised.

You have 15 days to comment on the draft plan. You can also request a particular nursery, school or college. The local authority will talk to the nursery, school or college and they are expected to reply within 15 days.

As part of the plan you may choose to have a personal budget. If you'd like to know more about a personal budget, you can talk to your SENDO.

You will be consulted on any further changes before the final plan is issued.

The final EHC plan will be issued within 20 weeks of the original request.
