Management structure update
We have updated our management structure.
New senior appointments include directors, consultants and heads of service in Adults, Health and Wellbeing and Children’s Services. We welcome everyone to their new roles.
You can view the updated management structure chart on the intranet.
Lancashire Listens: The Big Conversation on Care
The Casey Commission is inviting people to join The Big Conversation on Care, which will help shape the future of adult social care across the country. We want you to have the opportunity to share your views.
That's why we're hosting the Lancashire Listens drop-in event between 10am and 3pm on Wednesday 28 October at Crossgate Church, St Mary’s Street North, Preston.
Adult social care helps people live safely, independently and well.
Most of us will need care or know someone who does, so it's vital that you have your say. Everyone is welcome, and no invitation is needed.
Visit information stalls, hear talks and meet people involved in care and support.
Your feedback will inform Lancashire’s response to the Casey Commission.
Information Governance training update
Information Governance e-learning has now moved from MeLearning to the Astute training system.
If you previously started the course in MeLearning, you may need to start it again in Astute.
Other MeLearning courses will move to Astute in future. Complete any outstanding learning as soon as possible to avoid disruption.
Workforce flu vaccinations
The 2026/27 workforce flu vaccination programme is now open to staff who cannot get a free NHS flu vaccination.
Book an appointment at one of our onsite clinics, or pay at a pharmacy and claim the cost through Oracle Fusion.
Onsite clinics are by appointment only. New locations, dates and times will be added.
If you can get a free NHS flu vaccination, use the NHS service instead.
For more information, read our winter flu vaccination staff news article or email flu@lancashire.gov.uk.
Revised employee drug and alcohol use policy
We have updated our Alcohol and Drug Use Policy and Procedure.
The revised policy focuses on prevention, wellbeing and early support.
If there are concerns, managers should act promptly, focus on observed behaviour and avoid making assumptions.
Support includes Occupational Health, the Wellbeing Team and local substance misuse services.
Employees must not work while impaired by alcohol, drugs or medicines.
Consuming alcohol or using illicit drugs during working hours, including when working remotely, is considered gross misconduct and may result in formal action up to and including dismissal.
Read our revised Alcohol and drug use policy and procedure which is available on the intranet for full details.
