Eligibility criteria for the long service award

The long service award can be claimed by employees who have achieved 20 years or more Lancashire County Council service. This service does not have to be continuous.

Entitlement to the long service award does not apply to:

• Teachers in delegated schools.
• Teachers in centrally managed services.
• Employees with retained terms and conditions under the TUPE Regulations who transfer on or after 1st August 2010.

Note: Service with constituent authorities prior to the Local Government Reorganisation in 1974 will count as service as long as the employee transferred on 1 April 1974 or were employed there immediately prior to starting work with the County Council before 31 March 1974.
