Youth Futures - support for 16 to 18 year olds not in education, employment or training
If you need help or want to chat with someone else, the Youth Futures Team is here for you.
If you're aged 16 to 18 and not in education, employment or training we can help you with careers and education advice and guidance.
We can help with a wide range of opportunities for your next steps such as:
- applying for college or an apprenticeship
- looking for a job/work
- building your confidence and employability skills
We'll give you one to one support, helping you to understand your skills and find a way to achieve your career goals in a way that works for you.

BBC Bitesize: find information on different education options, future careers and the world of work. Get advice from experts and young people who've taken different paths after school.

UCAS: get career ideas and help with your post-16 choices and university applications. Take careers quizzes, explore finance options and take virtual tours of university campuses.
Not Going to Uni: discover alternatives to university degrees.
Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub's Escalate: find local projects that support people over 16 into work, including mentoring, CV writing tips and help applying for jobs or training.
National Careers Service: offers impartial careers advice for anyone aged 13 and over. Take a skills test to see what you're good at, explore careers or chat to an adviser.
The King's Trust: get support to find jobs, build confidence or start a business.
