Mental health support for adult social care
We have support services for people with mental health difficulties.
Wellbeing and mental health can change for various reasons.
If you need support, there are teams in Lancashire available for this.
They support people that want to improve their wellbeing and mental health.
What support is available?
The services have trained people ready to support using a range of methods based on people’s needs.
They listen, empathise and can support improving your wellbeing and mental health.
This can help with:
- improving your mood
- help you find a job or stay in work
- improve your social situation
- develop your confidence
Who can access support?
You can refer yourself for support or a General Practitioner (GP) can refer you.
Mental health support from adult social care
We support people with more complex mental health needs through adult social care.
This can include help to stay safe, manage at home, deal with housing or money, and keep in touch with family or the community.
Some people work with an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). A specially trained social worker who helps make sure the right care is in place and people’s rights are protected if they become very unwell.
We also work as part of community mental health teams with the NHS, GPs, housing and voluntary organisations.
