With rain on the way and a chill in the air, it can be a challenge to find things to do that are entertaining and low-cost, but we've pulled together some ideas to help you make special memories without breaking the bank.

If you're looking for a low-cost day out with little ones, why not head to your local library? By joining, you can enjoy a range of materials, from ebooks, audiobooks and magazines to comics and graphic novels. Whether you are curling up to shelter from the rain or looking for bedtime stories for children, there's something for everyone. You can also enjoy a range of festive activities at your local library – from Christmas crafting and coffee mornings to winter story time sessions, film nights and sing-alongs - we guarantee you'll fill up your calendar fast.

Look out for your Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) voucher ahead of the Christmas holidays. There is lots on offer, from warming winter food and indoor activities to parties and pantomimes, all aimed at increasing self-esteem, wellbeing and having fun!
