Reuse shops
Reuse shops sell pre-loved household items at prices people can afford.
Our 'reuse360' shops are open between 10am and 4pm at these recycling centres:
- Preston - open from Wednesday to Sunday
- Garstang - temporarily closed
- Burnley - open from Thursday to Monday
You can donate items at the sites drop off point.
The aim of our shops is to reuse as many second-hand items as possible, to reduce the number of items going to be recycled or disposed of as waste. This helps us reduce our impact on the planet.
We accept and sell the following types of items and more:
- homewares
- toys
- clothing
- books
- DVDs
- bikes and sports equipment
- furniture (with fire labels if required)
- DIY tools
- garden supplies
- prams, pushchairs, cots*
- mobility equipment*
We check everything for suitability, safety and cleanliness before sale.
Preston and Garstang shops sell pre-loved bikes that are safety checked and small electricals that have been PAT tested to make sure they are fit for reuse.
Our shops do not sell the following, due to safety concerns:
- petrol powered items
- gas powered items
- child car seats
- crash helmets or bike helmets
- cot mattressesĀ
- children's fancy dress items (due to concerns about flammability)
*Items like prams, pushchairs, cots and mobility equipment are thoroughly checked before sale, to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose. They come with a safety check sheet detailing the checks.
