Bike reuse and recycling
You can take broken, damaged or unwanted bikes to your local recycling centre.
Lytham, Burnley, Preston, Garstang, Farington, Burscough, Skelmersdale and Clitheroe recycling centres all have reuse projects that put unwanted bikes back to good use.
At Preston and Garstang recycling centres refurbished bikes are sold through the shops on site.
Bike reuse projects
We work alongside two organisations in Lancashire to reuse bikes from our recycling centres.
Active Cycles
Active Cycles takes unwanted bikes from six of our recycling centres and works with a trained mechanic and volunteers to provide affordable bikes to the public. Learn more about the project on the Active Lancashire website.
Wymott Prison bike project
Wymott Prison takes unwanted bikes from our Lytham Recycling Centre and refurbishes them in their bike workshop. Half of the bikes are then sold in the prison shop and the other half go to the Reuse Hub project.
