Longridge

Chapel Hill, Longridge, Preston, Lancashire, PR3 2YB

When you deposit your waste, ownership of it passes to Lancashire County Council. Any items deposited may be retained for reuse or recycling in order to reduce what is sent for disposal.

Opening times

Wednesday to Sunday 9-5pm.

Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.

Access policy

Please be aware of our Access Policy if delivering waste in a van or using a trailer.

All of our permit schemes are currently suspended.

All vans and trailers (including single axle trailers) must make an appointment to visit a recycling centre. An appointment is for a van or a trailer - not both. A van can be used to tow a trailer, but waste will not be accepted from both.

Plan your visit

When you arrive on site, report to a member of site staff. Once your booking has been confirmed you will be asked what waste types you have with and told which containers to use.

You will need to unload your waste and put it in the appropriate containers. Please ensure you load your vehicle in a way that allows you to empty your vehicle at the recycling centre.

Please do not overload bags and ensure they are only filled in volumes you can safely lift and carry. Site staff will not lift excessively heavy/awkward items. This also includes builders' bags, tonne bags and wheelie as these are not designed to be moved manually.

When visiting, you must note that:

  • abusive behaviour towards site staff or other customers will not be tolerated and you could be banned
  • those who do not comply the HWRC rules may be asked to leave and may be banned
  • we reserve the right to request proof of residency to visit a Lancashire County Council HWRC
  • the centre may have to close temporarily or for longer periods with no warning if required
  • security measures will be in place at the sites and body worn cameras will be used as required to ensure customers and site staff safety
  • any fly-tipped items left outside centre entrances or access roads is a crime.

Directions

The centre is most conveniently accessed from the mini roundabout on the B6243/B6244 Preston Road by turning into Chapel Hill where the site is located on the left hand side.
