The Great Lancashire Debate

How to enter

To enter your school in The Great Lancashire Debate, please complete the online entry form. Once we have received your form, we will contact you with more details on how to submit a video recording of your school's presentation.

Please read the terms and conditions carefully before entering.

Entry is free and open to any primary or secondary school within the postcode areas of Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, and Blackpool Council.

Your school's team must be comprised of no less than 2 and no more than 6 pupils. The primary competition is open to pupils in Year 5 and the secondary competition open to pupils in Year 9 (this is the year group they will be in from September 2024).

The last date to submit an online entry form is Thursday 3 October 2024, and all video recordings must be submitted by Friday 4 October 2024.

All entries will be shortlisted to identify:

  • a local area winner for every area in Lancashire (for both primary and secondary schools)
  • 6 primary schools and 6 secondary schools to take part in finals at County Hall, Preston

The finalists will be invited to deliver their presentations 'live' during the finals which will take place during UK Parliament Week 2024.
