Savings
Family life can get expensive, particularly over the summer period. That's why we’re bringing you some helpful tips on how to cut costs and enjoy quality time with your loved ones – without breaking the bank.
Childcare
The summer holidays can be a challenge for parents to juggle work and family life, so don't miss out on a range of childcare savings available for children from pre-school age up to 11 (or 16 depending on your circumstances). You could save up to £2000 a year with tax-free savings on childcare, get extra help towards costs with Universal Credit Childcare and access up to 30 hours of funded childcare with a nursery, pre-school or childminder. More information is available on our childcare page.
Family hubs
Our family hubs host lots of free groups and sessions for you and your family; from pregnancy sessions to support groups for teens. You can bring your little one to a Baby Bounce and Rhyme group, get active with a Mini Move and Groove session or check out our SEND groups for young people, up to age 25, across the county.
Free days out
Fancy a day out but worried about the cost? Our libraries host a variety of free events and activities for all ages!
Reuse360 shops
Looking for furniture, summer clothes, garden gear, or sports equipment? Our 'Reuse360' shops are full of high-quality, pre-loved treasures ready for a second life! By reusing items before they're recycled or disposed of, we're helping to cut down on unnecessary waste and lessen our environmental impact.
You can donate items at the site's drop off point too. So, if you're having a clear out this summer, come along! If your clear out means you have lots to recycle, find out where and how to do this on our recycle page.
