Theatre in education

September saw the return of the captivating theatre production 'Streetwise', delivered to Year 7 students across Lancashire. Many students who recently started secondary school will be travelling independently for the first time.

'Streetwise', provided students with the opportunity to explore road safety risk and consequences and their responsibilities as a pedestrian. This enables them to make informed decisions, manage their personal safety and understand how their behaviour affects those around them.

Each live performance was followed by an interactive workshop led by a trained facilitator. Using the performance as a springboard, students are then invited to challenge the attitudes and behaviours they have witnessed. The session is followed up with a bespoke scheme of teaching materials to support continuation of learning.
