Volunteering opportunities

If you have come to live in the UK, volunteering is an excellent way of getting to know your local community and helping you to feel at home in Lancashire. 

There are so many benefits to volunteering in your local community, including

Volunteering opportunities

If you have a particular interest and want to find a volunteering opportunity that links to a hobby or passion, for example football, cooking, sewing, art, culture, history - email the Refugee Integration Team for more information: LRITesolandcareers@lancashire.gov.uk.

The Lancashire Volunteer Partnership provide opportunities for volunteering in public services (the council, the police, fire services, health services etc).

Accrington

Hyndburn Borough Council provide opportunities to volunteer in Hyndburn including befriending, community support, women's groups and more. 

Blackburn

Community and Voluntary Services (CVS) will discuss opportunities available if you complete their online form. They also have volunteering drop-ins in Blackburn and Darwen. 

Burnley

Burnley Council is looking for volunteers to help look after its parks and green spaces.

Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service can help you find volunteering opportunities in East Lancashire.

Chorley

Chorley Council have lots of opportunities in Chorley from befriending, to supporting new refugees and asylum seekers, and supporting the Food Club.

Chorley Theatre will let you help out building sets or working front of house, welcoming customers.

Lancaster

Lancaster City Council have lots of volunteering opportunities in Lancaster, including looking after the city's green spaces.

Lancaster District Community & Voluntary Solutions help people to find volunteering opportunities in the Lancaster area. 

Bay Volunteers - The Hope Church are looking for volunteers to befriend and support people in the local community.

Lancaster Food Hub want volunteers for the food hub, to help people access food and essential items.

Pendle

Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service can help you find volunteering opportunities in East Lancashire

Pendle Hill Landscape Partnership are looking for volunteers who like walking and taking care of green spaces  to take care of Pendle Hill and help others to enjoy this beautiful space.

Preston

Preston City Council list volunteering opportunities including with the Harris Museum and conservation work.

Intact Community Centre have lots of roles available with training given. 

Skelmersdale

West Lancashire Borough Council website lists opportunities in different organisations in Skelmersdale such as food projects, a bike project, arts and culture organisations and youth work.
