Co-production

Co-production is a key aspect of Lancashire Refugee Integration Team's vision and delivery. Co-production is a values driven approach that encourages organisations to work in equal partnership with resettlers to design, develop and evaluate services. It recognizes that those with lived experience have the expert knowledge to ensure that delivered services are fit for purpose.

Whilst getting feedback from resettlers through consultation is useful, co-production goes further as it is rooted in the principle of equal power sharing where decisions are made collaboratively by organisations and experts by experience.

Refugee Action provides some excellent resources on Co-Production, which can be found here: Experts by Experience - Refugee Action Good Practice (ragp.org.uk)

Community-based research capacity building project

In 2020, Lancashire Refugee Integration Team commissioned a team from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to run training in research knowledge and skills for local refugees in Lancashire (Community-Based Research Capacity Building project) in order to begin building research capacity in refugee communities in Lancashire.

A small research team committed to training a group of local refugees in research knowledge and skills, aiming to start a process of expanding research capacity in local refugee communities which would endure after completion of the Scoping Review (below).
