Loan information and conditions
Loan periods and conditions of use for health resource models are subject to change and this information will be posted on the website.
Resources can be borrowed for a maximum of six weeks. If you would like to discuss a longer-term loan, please contact the service.
Please allow at least ten days' notice to borrow resources and note the collection and return days.
Resources will be available for collection from a nominated public library on a Wednesday and your latest return date to this library will be a Friday. You can of course collect your reservation after the given pick-up date and return it at any point before the return date.
You can choose which library you would like to collect and return your resource to from the following list. Full addresses will be provided when you make a reservation. Please check the opening hours of your chosen collection point before travelling to avoid disappointment.
Collection points:
- Accrington
- Burnley
- Chorley
- Clitheroe
- Fleetwood
- Leyland
- Morecambe
- Nelson
- Preston-Harris Library
- Rawtenstall

When collecting the items you will be asked to sign for them. If it is not you picking up the items, the person who does so will be asked to provide their name and number.
You must return items by the agreed return date. If you are unable to do so, you must agree this with the service at least one week before the agreed return date. This is to give time to cancel the driver and collection van and to prevent unnecessary costs being incurred. Late returns cause major inconvenience to other users who may have booked the resource.
You must return the items to the same place you collected them from, unless agreed in writing by the service beforehand.
You must return items in the condition and packaging in which they were provided.
You must take reasonable care of items loaned to you. This is your personal responsibility.
If you feel items are not in good condition, please make this known at time of collection or within three working days.
Any breakages or loss must be reported to the service as soon as possible.
The service reserves the right to charge for items which are broken, lost, uncollected or returned late.
Loans are only available to registered customers by previous arrangement with the service. No loans will be provided on a drop-in basis or at short notice.
Availability and use of loan items remains within the service's discretion at all times.
If for any reason the item you have reserved is unavailable, the service will make every effort to contact you as soon as any problems become known.
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the suitability of items for their audience and purpose; this includes seeking parental consent where appropriate.
The service does not accept any liability for unsuitability of items.
