Person centred support plan training for managers - OP0041
Who is this course for?
This one day training is for all the management staff in the Residential Teams only working within the Older People Service
Aims
To give managers an awareness of using person centred thinking and approaches so they can support their staff to help the people they support have more choice and control in their lives and to provide the best support they can in ways that reflect what is important to the person.
Please note that delegates must bring a copy of their own 1 Page Profile to the session (even if it is not fully completed) and also at least one resident's 1 Page Profile but can bring more than one.
Objectives
- Demonstrate a better understanding of person centred thinking to enable staff support
- Create better quality support plans with staff
- List a knowledge of a range of person centred tools
- Employ effectively person centred tools
- Relate the person to the centre of the support plan
- Identify family members and friends in developing the support plan
- Recognise their own role and how they fit into completing and auditing a quality support plan
- Explain the importance of planning for end of life
