Who is this course for?
Managers, Social Workers and Social Care Support officers working in personal Social Care, including Mental Health service and AMHPs
APPLICATIONS FROM STUDENT SOCIAL WORKERS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED IF RECEIVED WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF THE COURSE DATE. ANY APPLICATIONS RECEIVED BEFORE THIS WILL BE DELETED FROM THE SYSTEM.
Aims
To equip the learner to refer to the advocacy services available in a well
informed and confident way, in order to support the best possible outcomes for individuals
Objectives
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Describe the Advocacy Services in Lancashire.
- Describe the main principles of Advocacy.
- Outline a range of different types of Advocacy and their eligibility criteria.
- Outline the benefits of Advocacy to both customers and professionals.
- Define the role of the Advocate and others, both generally and specifically with regard to the care Act 2014.
- Describe the process of accessing Advocacy services.
- Explain some examples of the work of Advocates, including outcomes.
