This course is for Foster Carers, Supervising Social Workers and Social Workers from the Fostering Service.
Aims
This session will provide an insight into family dynamics, focusing on challenging behaviours and how foster carers can offer supportive strategies to the children/ young people in their care.
Objectives
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Outline positive responses that will maintain relationships within the family.
- Develop an approach to offering insight to children, young people and their families regarding repairing relationships.
- Demonstrate an awareness of how to engage children and young people.
- Demonstrate an awareness of how to apply calming strategies to offer children, young people in their care
- Identify stages of a crisis and appropriate responses.
