Eden Project Morecambe
This is a unique and ambitious project that seeks to reimagine the seaside resort for the twenty-first century, with a focus on education, ecology and community.
The project in Morecambe would attract visitors to the town spending money, creating jobs and new opportunities for local business.
This landmark project on the edge of the picturesque Morecambe Bay aims to be transformational for Morecambe and the wider county.
A contemporary and innovative new visitor attraction would be created on Central Drive in Morecambe, close to the Midland Hotel and the Stone Jetty.
We are working in partnership with the team from Eden, as well as Lancaster City Council and Lancaster University on these exciting plans.
The county council has been directly involved in the project with direct project management and advice, as well as working closely with Eden on the creation and submission of the Business Case to Government.
Planning permission has been granted by Lancaster City Council and the necessary funding is currently being brought together to make it happen.
A bid for £50m of public investment in Eden Project Morecambe was successfully submitted to the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.
