Sue Dean Writing Award - Take a look at the most recent winners
As you may know, Sue Dean (Senior Teaching and Learning Consultant for English and Literacy) sadly passed away. Sue became a consultant with Lancashire in 2002 and led the team for over ten years. Her knowledge and passion for the subject was apparent to anyone who ever met her, and she inspired countless teachers in Lancashire and beyond to support children in meeting their potential.
To continue her legacy, Lancashire Professional Development Service have founded the Sue Dean Writing Award. This award is for children who have made significant progress in writing throughout the academic year.
Below are some recent winners.
Sue Dean Writing Award certificate
This year, we have awarded the Sue Dean Writing Award to Thomas Mayor in Year 6 for inspiring others with his writing across the curriculum. Well done Thomas!
Sherwood Primary School Summer 2021 Winner
St Thomas the Martyr CE Primary Autumn 2020 winner
Paige Moore has been selected as the recipient of this term's Sue Dean award because of the natural talent she shows within her writing. During our lessons, Paige takes on board the objective we are focussing on and works exceptionally hard to achieve her very best. Reading her work is a joy and gives many children in the class pleasure in reading. She uses her imagination to build exciting narratives, speaks clearly to her reader during non-fiction pieces and takes pride in editing her pieces to make it the best she can. Attached are copies of the excellent work she has produced so far in this academic year.
