Pupil Mentoring
For any pupils at risk of or who are facing exclusion in schools and where issues relating to cultural background, practices or identity may be significant
Specific Service targets to reduce exclusions among ethnic groups where levels of exclusion are particularly high, e.g. African-Caribbean, mixed heritage and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller pupils
Mentoring takes place alongside work with school staff, parents, and other agencies in order to raise pupils' self-confidence, motivation and achievement.
A structured programme of individual/small group work is also available for KS2 pupils with specific challenges around coping with transition to secondary school. Mentoring staff support with pupils continues into KS3.
