Video 3 - Black History: A Slave Ship Called Hope

This update for subject leaders will include a focus on local black history linked to the requirements of the History National Curriculum in Upper Key Stage Two.

This session will focus on the changes to the statutory framework for EYFS that relate to Understanding the World/ History. It will include key support documents and creative ideas for activities in EYFS as well as an exemplar UKS2 teaching sequence focussing on the story of ‘A Lancashire Slave Ship called Hope.’

In addition to the video link you will be provided with a download pack of resources and a PowerPoint presentation, including key messages and training materials, which can be used for staff meeting updates or CPD sessions.
