- To consider the impact of cognitive load on learners and explore small steps in learning.
- To explore the role of the adult in EYFS focussing on guided, scaffolded and independent practice.
- To consider strategies to check pupils' understanding, review learning and use this to impact progress.
- To explore growth mindset, metacognition and explore how to create a culture for learning.
- To consider how an effective enabling environment impacts on progress.
- To explore a variety of effective questioning techniques and interactions to support children.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues to consider ways to implement and embed these strategies.

This full day course will give delegates the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction in EYFS and consider how to implement these in the EYFS setting. The course will give delegates an overview of Rosenshine's Principles and then focus on methods and strategies to support learning . These strategies will aim to support children as they grow in confidence learning a new concept and relating this to prior learning.
