Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction are grounded in a varied range of evidence including direct observation of strategies that the most successful teachers used to support their class, research of cognitive science and research into cognitive scaffolds and supports.
This half day course will give delegates the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction and consider how to implement these in school. The course will give delegates an overview of Rosenshine's Principles and then focus on strategies for questioning and ways to check for understanding. We will also consider how to adapt teaching in light of children's responses.
This course is part of a series that will examine Rosenshine's Principles grouped into categories to allow for ease of understanding and implementation. Each course stands alone, or delegates may choose to attend others in the series to examine all areas.
