• To explore what is meant by adaptive and responsive teaching.
• To identify the foundations needed for effective adaptive and responsive practice.
• To consider the importance of formative assessment before, and during a lesson and how this informs planning for learning and re-shaping of lessons.
• To explore practical ideas and strategies to make learning accessible for all children, including those children working below ARE due to SEND and/or disadvantage, and to provide challenge for those children who are ready for further depth and breadth of learning.
Adaptive and responsive teaching can present challenges in classrooms where there is a wide range of needs. This course will consider these challenges and draw on a range of research which considers how children learn and which highlights the importance of diagnostic and formative assessment when planning for progress in learning.
This popular course will consider the 'foundations' which need to be in place for effective adaptive and responsive practice within the classroom. It will give delegates a range of practical ideas, which can be applied immediately, to support and enhance their practice.
Please note, there are three sessions to this course. This will allow for management of delegates' cognitive loads and give opportunity for gap tasks and reflection between sessions.
Delegates will attend the initial 'Foundations' session and can choose to attend either one or both of the additional sessions (SEND; Stretch and Challenge). Please note, there will be a discount of….. per cent if schools book all three sessions. (FORM NEEDED TO SORT THIS OUT)
