This course is part of a series of courses using evidence informed understanding to develop, and embed, 'great' teaching and learning. In this course we will:
Examine research on how children learn and the practical implications of this for teaching and learning
Share a range of practical strategies that can be used to help children remember more across the curriculum
Look in depth at retrieval practice strategies and activities
"Memory is used in almost any everyday activity. But as soon as we learn something, we immediately start to forget it." Understanding how we learn - Yana Weinstein and Megan Suemracki
Discover different classroom based strategies that will support children remembering more.
Please note, this is the equivalent of a full day's course split over two sessions. Delegates will be expected to attend both sessions.
"I really enjoyed the training and learnt so much, some great practical strategies that will support remembering more back in school."
"The practical strategies will be extremely useful, I also enjoyed learning about the theory surrounding retrieval and the other techniques that support remembering more."
