This course will give teachers the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver, outdoor and adventurous activities safely on site, as part of the PE National Curriculum.

- Gain confidence in planning, delivering and reviewing a variety of outdoor adventurous activities to children with increased competence.
- Explore practical activities, which focus on developing the generic skills of listening, cooperation, teamwork, decision-making and trust.
- Consider risk management when delivering learning outside the classroom.
- Explore how we can make all aspects of learning, exciting, adventurous and linked to character education development when delivered outside the classroom.

This practical course that will help teaching staff to increase the challenge they set all children, as well as extending the more able in challenge and outdoor and adventurous activities. The course will cover a range of progressive physical challenges, team building, trails and orienteering activities from Y1– Y6. All of which can be delivered on a school site. The course will explore sequences of learning in Outdoor and Adventurous Activities and will help develop aspects of character education which is part of both PE and the PSHE curriculum.

This is a practical course and staff should be dressed appropriately for working outside, including appropriate footwear.
