- To identify the roles and responsibilities in supporting the provision of High Quality PE as a new subject leader.
- To explore how the subject leader can raise standards and promote high expectations in PE and School Sport.
- To be aware of the PE and School Sport Funding and how to use and measure its impact effectively.

This course is designed for new subject leaders in PE and explores the importance of the subject leader role in raising standards in Physical Education and how the PE Premium funding can support the development of the subject. This course is split over two days with a task to complete between the two days.

The course over the 2 days will explore:-
• PE policies;
• health and safety in PE;
• the role of the subject leader in supporting staff and pupils to achieve high quality PE and school sport;
• National Curriculum Physical Education at KS1 and KS2;
• curriculum mapping and the essential components of long, medium and short term curriculum planning;
• assessment and tracking pupil progress in PE across KS1 and 2;
• PE and school sport premium funding, impact and Ofsted; and
• strategies to raise standards within PE, sport and the whole school.

There is a practical element to this course, please dress appropriately.
