Red Rose Fast Track Phonics is a 15 week catch up planning programme based on Red Rose Letters and Sounds. It has been developed to support children typically in Reception and in Year 1 who need further support in phonics for reading and writing. However, the programme can also be implemented with children in later year groups who are still working on the earlier phases of phonic development. The programme is designed to revisit Phases 2, 3 and 4 in order to embed, accelerate and secure application in reading and writing.

This half day course examines the principles behind the programme and exemplifies practical delivery of the sessions. Assessment opportunities will be explored during the course in order to identify the GPCs and tricky words which require further teaching, practice and application.
