Delegates will have the opportunity to explore the following:
- creating and sustaining a positive climate for learning;
- the importance of relationships and building a trauma-informed classroom;
- establishing and communicating your expectations; teaching the behaviour you want to see and hear;
- exploring presence/command and confidence in your classroom;
- securing pupil engagement through adaptive and responsive teaching approaches;
- responding appropriately to inappropriate behaviour; and
- the power of positive language.

The day will be built around practical strategies, opportunities to discuss/share and apply to case study situations. Delegates will leave with a useful resource pack to support them as they implement their learning back in the classroom.
This day of CPD is suitable for both Year 1 and Year 2 ECT, in any subject, any setting or phase.
