In the recently published DfE policy Sustainability and Climate Change: A Strategy (updated Dec23), it states that by 2025 all education settings will have nominated a sustainability lead or team and, with support, put in place a climate action plan.

With the help of national speakers and a keynote from a well-known celebrity trailblazer, Laura Tobin (Good Morning Britain), this conference will help leaders and teachers to:
• introduce and embed sustainability and climate action into their school curriculum, school ethos and wider community;
• develop a cohesive approach to curriculum development;
• write a climate action plan, considering opportunities for helping children to be passionate about the natural world, know how best to protect it and how to influence their wider communities;
• provide ideas for addressing the Global Sustainability Goals, mental health and wellbeing, outdoor learning and the 60 Active Minutes agenda; and
• evaluate and improve sustainable practice within your school routines, grounds and buildings and be signposted to external agencies for support and information on accessing potential grants.

With national representatives from the Digital Nature Park, University of Central London (the designated provider of sustainability CPD for teachers), The Climate Ambassador program and advice from local and national bodies for bespoke action planning, the day will inspire schools to make a difference in this crucial decade for our planet.
