The course aims to:
• Review The Graduated Response in a mainstream school setting - from the initial concerns to EHCP
• Consider examples of pathways, targeted plans, review cycles etc. and resources used in different schools
• Explore how to effectively manage and direct specialist support
• Provide opportunities for discussion with experienced SENDCos currently working in settings across Lancashire
This course will provide SENDCos with advice and practical strategies to implement and lead the Graduated Response in schools. Run by school-based SEND Consultants, the training will provide opportunities to discuss 'what works' at different points of the Graduated Response and provide opportunities for delegates to consider how to develop practice in their own setting.
Schools' budgets are increasingly limited, so effectively managing specialist support is critical when identifying and supporting pupils. Examples will be given of effective deployment of specialist teachers to support pupils and develop teacher expertise.
The presenters are experienced SENDCos who currently work in schools in Lancashire, and several have recent experience of an Ofsted inspection in their school.
