This package programme is aimed primarily at schools who use the synthetic systematic phonics programme - Red Rose Letters and Sounds in Reception and Y1.

Please note - this package programme is also suitable for schools that use any phonics programme to implement effective spelling based on the National Curriculum for Y2.

Following a hugely successful roll-out of the programme in 2023-2025, the Primary English and Literacy Team at Lancashire Professional Development Service are delighted to share a comprehensive daily spelling programme based on the National Curriculum requirements for spelling in Y2. This planning programme has been developed, continuously evaluated and refined, using the expertise of phonics and spelling experts at LPDS, and feedback from Y2 practictioners in schools that use any phonics programme.

The package cost is £430 and includes CPD for one full day and two half days, and the planning programme for one delegate.

The planning programme includes a yearly progression of the curriculum for Y2 Spelling, half termly overviews, daily planning, word banks, and games and activities. Guidance for implementation is also included.

I absolutely love teaching Y2 spelling now because the programme provides so much support and the children are highly motivated to engage with sessions every day. I can't believe the impact on writing too!

We use Read, Write, Inc as our phonics programme and joined the programme this year. The impact has been amazing for our Y2 children. We are signing up for Red Rose Y3 and Y4 Spelling for next year.
