Course code Keystages Presented by
ENG142 Foundation; KS1; KS2
  • Nicola Martin (Senior Teaching and Learning Consultant - Primary)

To enable Primary English Subject Leaders to be informed about current issues around teaching and learning in the English curriculum.
To support the Primary English Subject Leader with specific aspects of their role.
To explore ways of continuing to improve the quality of teaching and learning in Primary English.

In this ever changing educational environment, it is crucial that subject leaders are informed about the current landscape in English. This meeting is suitable for any English subject leader who wants to enhance their leadership skills and keep abreast of national and local developments.
Each term there will be a half day session to provide:
- the latest information in relation to English, nationally and locally
- updates from the English team
- a guide through new initiatives in English
- approaches and documents to support the subject leader role
- a CPD session with full training materials which can be delivered back in school.

I always look forward to the termly networks - always packed with essential information and excellent CPD materials to support my role. (English Subject Leader 2023-24)

I would recommend every English Subject Leader attends the termly network sessions! I always feel up to date and the team are so helpful and friendly during the sessions. Each term, the CPD materials are invaluable and always support my developments in school. The English team always seem to know what is needed! Coming from another Local Authority, I have been so impressed with the sessions and all the other CPD offered too. Many thanks (English Subject Leader 2023-24)
