Talk Four: A year-long CPD programme designed to improve outcomes for children in Y4

Talk Four is a year-long CPD programme designed to improve outcomes for children in Y4.
The cost of this programme is £600 for one member of staff attending each session and includes three full days and three half days of CPD.

This programme includes:
- English Publication Bridging Unit - The Loch Ness Monster - a full unit of work to be delivered in autumn 1 (prior to the start of Talk Programme training).

- CPD Day 1 – an exemplified narrative unit of work based on traditional tales from another culture based on the text Rumaysa by Radiya Hafiza (5-6 weeks) to be delivered in autumn 2, with a comprehensive resource pack.

- CPD Day 2 – two exemplified units of work including non-fiction information, explanation and poetry elements (3-4 weeks) based on the theme of climate change and the effects, and a narrative unit of work focusing on settings (2-3 weeks) based on The Last Bear by Hannah Gold to be delivered across the spring term and/or moving into the summer term, with a comprehensive resource pack.

- CPD Day 3 – an exemplified unit of work based on a classic narrative poem, Macavity by T.S. Eliot with a range of short and longer writing outcomes, including journalistic non-fiction (6-7 weeks), to be delivered in summer 2, with a comprehensive resource pack.

- Three half-day update sessions with a focus on key skills, modelled writing and editing writing, alongside moderation training and workshops, in the autumn, spring and summer terms. Models of moderation will be explored which can be utilised back in school.
