The EYFSP is the statutory assessment tool used at the end of the reception year, in terms of effective transition, it is important that the Year 1 teacher understands the assessments made using the Profile and can use this to information to move children on in their learning appropriately. The course will help Y1 teachers to consider provision for children how to make the transition from EYFSP assessment to National Curriculum Assessments.
Further consideration will also be given on how to develop a positive, calm and challenging environment and support children with their personal, social and emotional wellbeing. Many children find the transition from EYFS to Y1 difficult so we will share practical strategies to support children with this emotional change.
Delegates will need to bring the results for their children (from EYFSP at end of Reception) to the course. These results will be obtainable from the current EYFS Teacher.
Headteachers and EYFS/KS1 managers may also find this course useful as it will give an overview of the EYFSP and how it can effectively be built upon at the beginning of KS1.
