Culture Hacks

Culture Hacks are young volunteers aged 11-24 in Lancashire libraries and Lancashire Archives.

Being a Culture Hack gives young people the chance to be creative and learn new skills. They help make inspiring activities happen and get the chance to develop their own project ideas.

We have opportunities to volunteer on a regular basis or for specific periods, such as the summer holidays. There's so much they can get involved with, from supporting children’s activities as part of our reading programmes, to Lego clubs, coding and science clubs to exhibitions and displays.

We recognise Culture Hacks' contributions by awarding Culture Hack branded clothing, and bronze, silver and gold certificates at key stages of their volunteering. A record of achievement booklet helps them to track their achievements and gain their awards.

Being a Culture Hack volunteer can provide valuable experience to go on a CV or could count towards other awards.
