Enquiries and research
Make an enquiry
Please contact us by email archives@lancashire.gov.uk or phone 01772 533039 with any questions you think we might be able to help with.
If our collections contain relevant information and this can be checked in 10 minutes or less, we will do this for you free of charge.
If it would take more than 10 minutes, we will provide you with details of the relevant records and let you know how you might access them. This might include:
- ordering a copy
- visiting in person
- employing a record agent
- paying us to do the research for you (applies to records with restricted access and by application only)
Record agents
This list of Record agents shows people who may be available to undertake paid research on your behalf in Lancashire Archives and other local record offices.
Paid research service
In some cases, Lancashire Archives can offer extended research into some types of Restricted Access hospital and asylum records for a fee. Read more about the paid research service.
