Small area populations

This dashboard has been created to give the most recent population headcount figures for as many places in Lancashire as possible. It identifies very small rural settlements and distinguishes between different geography types that have the same or similar names. It does not include all the sub-divisions of urban areas unless they appear as wards. Use the box to type in a place name to restrict matches for a name. The names of some wards include the name of the district they fall in if their names are not unique.

Please note that the whole of the urban area of Preston is not listed as a single built-up area. The Preston BUA which appears does not include the Fulwood, Cottam or Broughton areas. There is also a much more generalised version of the built-up area geography in which Preston covers parts of South Ribble and Chorley, but this report does not include these. The Appley Bridge and Up Holland built-up areas straddle the county boundary but the results shown here are for the parts in Lancashire only.

For help on using these dashboards, please look at our tips and hints (PDF, 454KB).

For help on understanding neighbourhood geographies, please look at our geographies page. This report uses the less common type of geographies: parishes, built-up areas and rural settlements. The whole of the county are not covered by these, although most of Lancashire is now covered by a parish.
